Our client, a leading Funds Management business based in the Sydney CBD, is seeking to appoint a Senior Finance Business Analyst to join their Finance & Operational Transformation team.

Following significant growth driven by both organic expansion and strategic acquisitions, this newly created role will focus on delivering ongoing improvements across the organisation’s core financial systems, operational processes, fund structures and control environment.

Reporting to the Head of Finance Transformation, you will operate at the intersection of Finance, Operations, Legal, Product and Technology, ensuring that system upgrades, process enhancements and operational workflows align with regulatory obligations, fund structures and commercial outcomes.

🔍 Key Responsibilities
  • Finance SME for systems — Lead finance input into system upgrades, workflow enhancements and operational transformation
  • Business requirements — Define and document finance, operational and legal requirements for system and process design
  • Process mapping — Map current‑state and future‑state GL, fund operations and financial control processes
  • Fund structures & operations — Ensure system design and operational workflows reflect fund structures, product rules and regulatory frameworks
  • Workflow modelling — Analyse data flows, operational dependencies and system interactions across the fund lifecycle
  • Stakeholder engagement — Facilitate workshops across Finance, Operations, Legal, Risk, Product and Technology
  • Process improvement — Identify inefficiencies and deliver scalable, compliant and well‑controlled process enhancements

🎯 What You Bring
  • Strong background in Funds Management, Asset Management, Superannuation or broader Financial Services
  • Deep understanding of business systems, fund structures, operational workflows, and regulatory requirements
  • Strong business analysis capability with experience translating finance, operational and legal requirements into system and process design
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
    • Financial Control / Fund operations or Accounting, or
    • Finance BA roles across transformation, system upgrades or finance streams of major projects
  • Ability to work across complex operational environments and influence senior stakeholders
